Valentina Agostinis presents her documentary Blow up of Blow up with Adrian Wootton

Blow up, Michelangelo Antonioni’s masterpiece is 50 years old. The documentary Blow up of Blow up is a series of interviews to the people involved in the making of the film to capture the journey that the director made in 1966 during the shooting of the film. Testimonals include his dialogue assistant, the photographer whose studio Antonioni visited to learn fashion photography and one of the models acting in the film. Interviews include other “swinging London” celebrities, academics and critics that have explored the importance of some of the details on the making of the film.

The extract (15’) and the talk will be followed by the screening of Antonioni Film “The Vanquished” (British episode, 37’) in which Herbert Mills, a 19 years old strangles an ageing prostitute in the suburbs of London for no apparent reason.

Blow up of Blow up is produced by Marco Serrecchia of Minimumfax media, in collaboration with Fondo Antonioni - Comune di Ferrara and with the support of Ministero dei Beni Culturali e del Turismo.

Valentina Agostinis, is a journalist and has written on culture for various newspapers. With Il Saggiatore she published “ Periferie dell’anima “ and “Londra chiama, otto scrittori rispondono” and in 2012 for Feltrinelli “ Swinging city, Londra centro del mondo” on London in the sixties.
She has worked for Rai TV on programmmes on multicultural Europe.

Adrian Wootton is the Chief Executive of Film London, the agency charged with developing the screen industries in the capital, and the ritish Film Commission, the unit responsible for promoting he UK as the best place to produce feature films and high end television.
