Simonetta Agnello Hornby presents her latest novel CAFFÈ AMARO (Feltrinelli) at the Blenheim Palace Festival of Literature, Film and Music

The Italian Cultural Institute is delighted to bring award-winning novelist and food writer Simonetta Agnello Hornby to the prestigious Blenheim Palace festival of Literature, Film and Music, taking place in the historical setting of Blenheim Palace, in Oxfordshire, in October.

On the opening day of the Festival, Thursday 13 October, at 2pm, Simonetta Agnello Hornby will talk about her latest novel, the best-seller, Caffè Amaro (published in Italy by Feltrinelli), a story of love and eroticism set in Sicily.

Simonetta Agnello Hornby was born in Palermo, Sicily. She has lived in London for over 30 years, working as a family lawyer: in 1979 she co-founded Hornby & Levy, the first law firm specialized in cases of violence within the family, which published in 1997 The Caribbean’s Children Law Project, a study that is still unique today. Simonetta has been President of the Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal for 8 years. Her first book The Almond Picker (Penguin) was an international best seller, translated in twelve languages, winner of many literary awards. Her book The Nun won the Italian Pen Prize in 2011. In addition to her novels, she has written on Italian food and culinary traditions.
