The FLR - The Florentine Literary Review is a bilingual literary magazine in Italian with English translations. It features short stories and poems by contemporary Italian writers. It is a twice-yearly illustrated magazine, with each edition dedicated to a theme-word. In this first tour of presentations in the UK, the magazine’s editor Alessandro Raveggi meets Chris Power and Marco Mancassola for a conversation about literary magazines, translation and comparisons between the Italian and British literary worlds.

Marco Mancassola was born in Northern Italy in 1973. His literary works are published by leading Italian publishers and by Gallimard in France. His books have earned several literary prizes including the Premio Fiesole. His most recent novel Gli amici del deserto was recently published in France. He currently lives in London. He is one of the organizers and founders of FILL - Festival of Italian Literature in London.

Chris Power's first book, the short story collection Mothers, will be published by Faber in March 2018. His fiction has appeared in The Stinging Fly, The Dublin Review and The White Review. His 'Brief Survey of the Short Story' has appeared in the Guardian since 2007.

Alessandro Raveggi (Florence, 1980), author, scholar and editor of The FLR - The Florentine Literary Review. He published Il grande regno dell’emergenza (short stories, LiberAria), Nella vasca dei terribili piranha (novel, Effigie), the essays "Calvino Americano" (Le Lettere) and "David Foster Wallace" (Doppiozero editions). He also curated "Panamericana" (La Nuova Frontiera).
