The Campsite Shower Theory - In Praise Of Just-Out-Of-Time Architecture

Countdown for the London Design Festival, held in the British capital from 16 to 24 September 2017. Once again this year INTERNI, together with the Italian Cultural Institute in London, will be on hand with an important event: a lecture by the architect Cino Zucchi titled The Campsite Shower Theory - In Praise of Just-Out-Of-Time Architecture.

Through the ironic metaphor of the "campsite shower," Cino Zucchi – one of the leading Italian professionals in the field of architecture and urban design – converses with Robert Mull, a professor at the University of Brighton, to shed light on a crucial point that separates works of architecture and urban environments from easily eliminated technical objects: the obligatory delay between necessity and solution, and the capacity of buildings and the city to change over time, taking on roles and functions for which they were not originally designed.

The evening will begin with an introduction by the Italian Ambassador to the United Kingdom Pasquale Terracciano, followed by Gilda Bojardi, editor of INTERNI, the magazine of Interiors and Contemporary Design of Gruppo Mondadori, and Marco Delogu, director of the Italian Cultural Institute.

The lecture, open to the public, will take place on Tuesday 19 September at 19.00, at the facility of the Italian Cultural Institute in London (39 Belgrave Square, London SW1X 8NX).

After the conference, guests can enjoy an Italian aperitif.

We would like to thank: Baglioni Hotels, Kartell and Marchesi Frescobaldi, San Pellegrino
