MiBACT for photography: new strategies and overlooks on the ground

With Lorenza Bravetta, in dialogue with ICI Direcor Marco Delogu

Which is the role of public intervention in Italy in the field of photography? How should it adjust to the technical and economic mutations? How could it promote photography in Italy as historical heritage and contemporary language at the same time? Which is the place of Italian photography in the Italian and international context?

After the experience of the States General of photography, Lorenza Bravetta talks about Italian contemporary photography and cultural policies, from her privileged point of view as Advisor for the promotion of the national photographic heritage of the Italian Minister of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism.

Lorenza Bravetta has worked at Magnum Photos since 1998, first as Head of the agents in Europe, then as Head of corporate activities since 2006 and lastly as Director of commercial activities for Europe since 2010. In 2015 she founded in Turin CAMERA – Centro Italiano per la Fotografia, with the aim of promoting Italian photography in a permanent dialogue with international art partners. In 2017 she has been appointed Advisor for the promotion of the national photographic heritage by the Italian Minister of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism, Dario Franceschini.
