The case of Saverio Raimondo. How can you translate the rhythm of comedy?

The Italian Cultural Institute presents a special event part of the series “Goodbye Dolce Vita” with Saverio Raimondo, one of the leading Italian stand-up comedians.

Is comedy a global language? What do you lose and what do you gain in the transition from one language to another? Do you laugh in the same way in London as in Rome? From words to facts: the discussion on the potential of the stand-up comedy will be enriched by a live performance during the event.

The event will be chaired by Italian journalist Stefano Cipolla (La Repubblica) and will be both in English and Italian with a simultaneous translation.

Saverio Raimondo was born in Rome in 1984. TV writer and performer, he works for TV and radio. In 2012 he founded the Cocktail Comedy Club at the Oppio Caffè in Rome. He is the face of the Comedy Central TV channel in Italy. This year he won the “Satira Forte dei Marmi” prize and he is the only Italian coomedian invited to perform at “Just for laugh” in Montreal, the most important comedy festival in the world.
