BIBLIOTECA "EUGENIO MONTALE"
The library has 25,000 books in Italian, DVDs and CDs.
You will be able to borrow books, cds and videos searching our catalogue online and booking via email the materials you are interested in.
You will receive and return them by post – please note that all return postage expenses are payable by the borrower. If you prefer you can collect and return them at the reception.

NOTE: Books of reference, special essays and series, rare books and periodicals may not be borrowed. All borrowed books, videos and CDs must be used with care and must on no account be marked or otherwise defaced. Also, they must be returned on time or promptly renewed. Failing this, the Institute may withhold the membership of the borrower and seek appropriate compensation.
The Italian Cultural Institute reserves the right to alter any of the above rules.
Reading Group
The reading group is held in our Library usually on the first Wednesday of each month 6pm to 8pm
Italian is the predominant language for the conversations inspired by the books we will read, but don’t worry if you feel like your Italian is not perfectly fluent; we are planning to run this group in a very relaxed, informal and friendly atmosphere.

The library's section for children SPAZIO BAMBINI aims to entertain, excite and inspire the children, their languages and ideas by lending the best in children's literature and DVD's.

Condizioni del prestito
I soci possono prendere in prestito fino a tre libri alla volta per 15 giorni. Il prestito puo’ essere prolungato ammesso che i libri non siano stati prenotati nel frattempo. Sono esclusi dal prestito enciclopedie, edizioni speciali, libri rari e periodici. Film e video sono a disposizione di scuole, universita’ ed altri organi di istruzione.
I libri presi in prestito possono essere restituiti per posta, e qualunque cambiamento di indirizzo deve essere comunicato immediatamente.
I libri e i video non devono essere danneggiati o modificati in alcun modo, inoltre devono essere restituiti in tempo. Qualunque richiesta di prolungamento del prestito deve essere comunicata col dovuto anticipo. Il mancato rispetto di una di queste condizioni puo’ comportare il ritiro della tessera di socio dell’Istituto, nonche’ un obbligo di risarcimento.
L’Istituto Italiano di Cultura si riserva di modificare in qualunque momento le condizioni qui sopra citate.

Italiantoolbox
Ai bibliotecari interessati alla promozione di materiale in lingua italiana nelle biblioteche, possiamo offrire una selezione di libri in italiano raccomandati per bambini. La selezione e' divisa in tre categorie: libri per bambini (sotto i dodici anni), libri per ragazzi (dai 13 anni in su) e libri illustrati.

La web site e' stata concepita in occasione della conferenza "Eurotoolbox - Promoting European- language material in libraries".
La conferenza e' stata organizzata nel novembre 2004 dalla CILIP e con la collaborazione dello staff delle biblioteche degli Istituti di Cultura francese, tedesco, italiano e spagnolo in Londra.
